Why Service Your Stove?
A clean, well-maintained stove burns better, performs better and is easier to use.
Over time, soot, ash and deposits can build up inside the appliance and flue system. Rope seals can wear, fire cement can crack and internal components can distort or degrade through regular use.
Servicing allows these items to be checked before they become more serious problems. It also gives you an opportunity to order replacement stove spares before the colder months arrive.
If your appliance is unsafe, unsuitable or not fit for use, our engineer will advise you accordingly and explain the next steps.

Natural FirelighterFirelighter FAQ's
How do firelighters work?
Firelighters are used as an accelerant to ignite smaller pieces of timber commonly referred to as kindling. However, at Hot Box, we like to keep things simple and have designed and patented our own firelighter which eradicates the need for kindling and firelighters as traditionally used to light a fire.
Hot Box ® Firestarter is the best way to light a fire. Simply pop out two air holes, light with a match or lighter then, just add logs.
The perfect fire every time without failure or fuss. Further, you will never need to store kindling or firelighters in your home again.
What makes a firelighter natural?
A natural firelighter may be described as one which is made using only organic products.
Examples of such may contain wood wool, wax, or compressed sawdust.
Natural firelighters have become popular due to their ease of use and low odour.
Further, a natural firelighter is safer to have in the home as they are not as volatile as other synthetic firelighters which may contain petroleum chemicals such as paraffin or hexamine.
A good example pop a natural firelighter is wood wool firelighters. These are made uint wood shavings or wool, which is then bound together using wax, usually natural wax such as beeswax.
However, Hot Box ® Firestarter is also a good example of a natural firelighter. However, our patented firelighters contain a natural firelighter and kindling which has been pre arranged to create the perfect fire every time without fail.
How to use a firestarter
Commonly, when using a firestarter you will need two component parts. The firelighters themselves and then kindling wood or tinder strips which are small pieces of dry wood fuel which will ignite easily.
Thereafter, you will need to arrange the kindling and firelighters in such a way so as to promote a flow of air around the components to create the fire triangle, heat, oxygen and fuel.
In the alternative, Hot Box ® Firestarter has been designed and made to provide the most convenient firelighter. each one of our patented firelighters is the perfect fire inside a combustible container.
The arrangement of firelighters and fuel elements has already been done, the flow of air is intrinsic to the design and the result is the perfect fire, ever time, without fail.
Check out our YouTube videos or watch the one below to see how to use a firestarter.
When do I add logs?
You can either add logs before you add Firestarter, or whilst the product is burning. The temperatures created exceed 600 centigrade, so the auto ignition point of seasoned wood fuel is easily exceeded.
Top tip, place a coupld of logs in the base of your wood burner, add firestarter on top, and add a log or two at the side, light leave and add more fuel as required.
